Dr. Abhijit Suresh Chavan is a highly qualified and accomplished Interventional Nephrologist and Kidney Transplant Physician with extensive clinical expertise in kidney care, dialysis, and renal transplantation. He holds a Doctorate of Medicine (DM) in Nephrology from Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College, Pune, and a Fellowship in Renal Transplantation from Max Superspeciality Hospital, New Delhi. In addition, he has completed MD and DNB in Internal Medicine and a Postgraduate Diploma in Geriatric Medicine (PGDGM), enabling him to deliver comprehensive and age-appropriate kidney care. Dr. Chavan is known for his patient-centered and compassionate approach, combining advanced clinical decision making with empathetic guidance for individuals and families navigating kidney disease. Dr. Chavan has significant experience managing complex renal cases, including glomerular diseases, critical care nephrology, and post-transplant infectious conditions.
He is trained in interventional nephrology procedures such as tunneled catheter insertions and renal biopsies, and has been involved in ABO-incompatible, HLA-incompatible, and deceased donor kidney transplant programs.
